WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT

A warm welcome to Archbishop Spalding High School. Founded by the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1963 and originally staffed by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Archbishop Spalding has provided Catholic secondary education to families in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Anne Arundel County and surrounding counties for over 50 years. Our Mission challenges our students, faculty and staff to grow spiritually, academically, and socially. Christ remains the center of who we are and what we do. Our faith keeps us rooted in gospel values and the traditions of the Catholic Church. Spalding is a community of learners. Faculty, staff, students, coaches, and parents engage, support, mentor, model, facilitate and teach – each other and most importantly the 1200 young women and men who call Archbishop Spalding High School home. We encourage our students to participate in campus life. Over half of our students engage in an athletic activity; over a third participate in our performing arts department program. Service to the school and to the community is a priority and each student is expected to pay it forward. We are a community blessed with diverse gifts and talents. We help our students realize and use these gifts to help others and to make our world a better place. Again, welcome. On behalf of the young men and women of Archbishop Spalding, I hope you feel welcome in our community, whether you are a prospective student, a parent, an alumnus or friend. I hope your website visit becomes a campus visit where you can feel the spirit and energy of the community of Archbishop Spalding High School. We are … One in Christ. Kathleen K. Mahar President
